We are currently looking for upper level math and/or science teachers at our learning center in Torrance, CA. As an Instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibilities are: Just Teaching. As a successful teacher you will: Teach using Sylvan based programs from Pre-Algebra to Calculus, Biology and Chemestry Supervise, interact with, and motivate students in a small group, 3:1 setting Reward students for completed assignments -Evaluate and document student progress Communicate student needs to the center director Inspire Students -Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree required Advanced knowledge and familiarity with teaching or tutoring in the areas of Pre-Calculus, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry and Trigonometry is required 1 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask Have some availability in the afternoon/evening Monday-Friday 2:30-7:30 and Saturday 9:30-2:30 Compensation: $19-$22/hour
