The UHealth system at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Pharmacy Technician 3 at our UHealth Deerfield location. The Pharmacist Technician 3 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs, in addition to hazardous or other advanced level compounding. Core job functions include collecting, inputting, and verifying prescription, refill, and patient information and maintaining patient records; filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals; implementing inventory control procedures and ordering supplies within regulatory guidelines; responsible for hazardous, specialized, or advanced level compounding including chemotherapy, epidural, ophthalmology, CADD pumps, and TPNs; serving as a Pharmacy Technician Coordinator as needed; participating in temporary taskforces or short-term committees; resolving prescription inquiries; performing preceptor role in training students and onboarding new pharmacy technicians; serving as a mentor or role model; staying abreast of advanced knowledge and proficient practice in pharmacy dispensing and medication dispensing systems; adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguarding University assets. Core qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, State of FL registration, certification in relevant specialty or field, and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Skills required include data entry with minimal errors, effective communication, problem-solving, professional composure under stress, maintaining interpersonal relationships, and handling confidential information with discretion.
