JOB SUMMARY: This is a highly responsible position in the Office of Workforce Management (OWM) Human Resource Office. Providing HR consulting services for the Department of Revenue related to the Attendance and Leave Programs and Benefits. Duties include:

  • Processing Sick Leave Pool (SLP) and Sick Leave Transfer (SLT) Cases.
  • Processing Separation Leave Audits for separating employees.
  • Provide correspondence, reports and/or complete forms for employees, and/or vendors regarding attendance and leave.
  • Manage the Ask Benefits email account, forwarding customer emails to the appropriate staff for review and response.
  • Provide technical assistance to management and supervisor regarding attendance and leave in the People First System and FLAIR.
  • Provide the Benefits Manager with input for updates and recommended on policy and procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs) webpage information, and pre-formatted communications and articles.
  • Assist with the development of employee training materials, communications, and forms related to attendance and leave.
  • Performs other related duties as required, including but not limited to, special projects, annual leave related tasks, and working in other areas as resources are needed or as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working in an office environment, with demonstrated ability to apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to work tasks.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and professionally as part of a team.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers regarding processes and required standards.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and meeting established deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel), with the ability to quickly learn additional software and technologies as needed.

PREFERENCES:

  • Experience working in a Human Resources office.
  • Experience using the People First system within a Florida State Agency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Rule 60L-34, Florida Administrative Code.
  • Experience processing the State of Florida’s Sick Leave Programs.

SALARY: $43,890.36.
