Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Health is looking for a Health Information Management Technician to join our team of professionals!

Originally established in 1898, Windsor Laurelwood has served the community for over 125 years, providing high-quality behavioral health and substance use treatment services to adults, adolescents, and children.

Position Summary:

The Health Information Services Technician participates as an integral member of the Health Information Services team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information/medical records, within all laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies and The Joint Commission standards for the quality of patient care.  The Health Information Technician oversees the daily department functions to provide timely, consistent processes.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma. Associate’s degree preferred.

Experience: At least three (3) years experience in healthcare management/medical records or clerical field preferred.

Other Requirements: Typing speed of at least 40 wpm preferred. 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily department workflow as needed to maintain timely processes.
  • Provide guidance to physicians and clinical staff in the completion of medical records, following applicable laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies and The Joint Commission standards for the quality of patient care.
  • Answer inquiries from internal and external contacts regarding information recorded in the patient’s medical records, within all departmental policies and guidelines.
  • Prepare written correspondence regarding patient records as required.
  • Other assigned duties
